If you spend 100 hours studying the therapies, diagnosis, models of develpment (which, I had 0 questions on developmental models whatsoever), defense mechanisms, it will only be like 10% of the exam it felt like to me. ![]() The problem with study guides is so very little of the exam is previous knowledge, and both study guides (including practice tests) were entirely focused on quizzing knowledge. Just before submitting my final answers, I felt without a doubt there was no way I passed the exam. You have an insane amount of time to finish the exam (4 hours.) I finished in about 2.5 hours, while going back and checking about 50 questions I had marked for review. and about 10 had to do with clinical terms for therapy/defense mechanisms ect. About 5 had to do with best therapy to select. I only had 5ish questions that presented symptoms and asked for a diagnosis. Very VERY little of the exam is previous knowledge. ![]() I decided to stick to it (FAREAFI) and answer often against what my head thought the right answer was. Many of the answers "feel right", and often times it felt like using the FAREAFI model was leading me astray. Most of the questions actually use the specific terms in the answers (REFER to XYZ, EDUCATE the patient on XYZ, ect.) What do you do NEXT/FIRST? The FAREAFI acronym is the only reason I passed this thing. The test does not tell you which questions you got right or wrong, please keep that in mind as I have no way of knowing if what I did really worked or if I was just really lucky.Ĩ0% of the questions are "XYZ happens/walks into your office and does SOMETHING. I scored 101 correct with 97 on my test being required to pass. So if you're reading this and the year is no longer 2017, there's a good chance the test is entirely different ![]() Just moments ago, I managed to pass what felt like the hardest exam of my life!
